"Purr"fect Endings

When SCRG takes cats/kittens into foster care are goal is to place them within driving distance from their foster homes. This allows the new parents to meet the kitty they have been selected for and for the foster Mom/Dad to meet the possible new parent.   Our application is on the web page, if you are interested in a kitty please complete the application.  We select potential families from these applications only.  All applications are kept on file for 6 months, if after 6 months you are still interested in a rescue kitty we ask that you complete a new application.  For those asking about kittens, we rarely get kittens or young cats, most of the cats are older and may have behavioral or medical issues.  We do attempt to sort out any behavioral issues and we do address all medical issues with veterinarians.

SANDY
IMG_0529.jpg

Sandy is a beautiful almost 5 year old cream tabby purebred Siberian. Sandy has been in a foster home for quite some time now as she has a Grade II heart murmur. She has had 2 echos and her results are on the higher side of normal. Her last echo was 12/07 with a slight change. She does come from a Siberian line with probable HCM. She is not on medications and she exhibits NO symptoms. We have waited until she has had a 2nd echo to put her up for adoption. Her vaccines are current and she tests negative for FeLv. She is a bit shy but will sit on your lap when she wants to. She has a tendency to matt and needs weekly combing, she likes to be groomed. She is front declawed. Sandy has had urinary crsytals in her past but has not had any since being in foster care. Sandy has free run in the foster home and is pretty much a loner when it comes to the other cats in the home as well as the dog. She pretty much stays between two rooms- spending most of her day on the bed. She is a talker and chirps a lot. Sandy deserves a home of her own- with no other cats and no dogs, or children- she needs an understanding owner that will allow her to be herself and not expect a lot of interaction. We do not know if Sandy will get HCM as she ages , she very well could but she also may not. She will have to be monitored closely by a vet to watch for any cardiac changes in the future. She is being fostered in Maine and will be adopted out only to a person who is within driving distance of the foster home. If you are interested please e mail. Edit Text
