Sphinxie, the best cat in the world, passed away on September 25, 2002. She is missed!

Sphinxie's final resting place is marked with this stone:

Sphinxie was born just outside of Naples, Italy in November 1990. She lived in Licola, Italy for 3 years, then she moved to Newport, Rhode Island. She also spent some time in Narragansett, Providence, and Kingston, Rhode Island; Somerville, Massachusetts; and Delaware. Her final residence was Highland Park, New Jersey.

But enough about Xena -- back to Sphinxie! For a time, Sphinxie lived with her step brother, Khan, and her half-siblings, Tuna and Proust. She also had a half-brother, Elvis, and a half-sister, Ann-Margret, in Worcester, Massachusetts.

Sphinxie's name came from the movie When Harry Met Sally... At one point Harry says, "You know, I have a theory that Hieroglyphics are really an ancient comic strip about a character named Sphinxie."

Hobbies: Sphinxie's hobbies included gazing lovingly upon her humans; sleeping in bed with her humans; anxiously awaiting the arrival of her humans; growling at any cats in her space; ignoring her perpetually watery (ala Katharine Hepburn) eye; smelling like talcum powder; and ruling the universe.
