So, you ask, what is the deal with "Cheap Elvis the Imposter?" Well, it's a long story. Back when he was an outdoor cat living in Colorado, he was mistaken for another black cat. He was driven back to Massachusetts, whereupon his erstwhile abductor discovered that this was not the cat intended for adoption. Alas, it was too late... and he became known as "The Imposter." When I adopted him, he told me that he needed a different name. After all, there was no intentional impersonation on his part... He shouldn't have been called "The Imposter"; his abductor should have been known as "The Cat Snatcher" or something like that. So we compromised on "Cheap Elvis the Imposter", or "ELVIS" for short. ![]() ![]() Above: Extreme close-up of Elvis; Elvis with guitar case. ![]() Above: Ann-Margret and Elvis "I'm not doing anything wrong" on the radiator. Hobbies: Elvis' hobbies include meowing constantly; begging for butter and cheese; sharpening his front claws on the sofa; sitting on his mother's lap and having her give him a pony-tail (which is always "too tight"; slithering around the house in hunter mode; glaring out the window at the neighbor's black cat (his doppelganger); listening to Richard Harris sing "Mac Arthur Park" (he's especially fond of the last, very high, note); and general freakishness. |
